Re: My Hare'y monkeys again
Thanks, Poor 'Bo doesn't have so much of a Hare shape to him as Clover, he's a little on the chunky side of Hare
One of their offspring from 2009 had an amazing shape, i really wish i had the room at the time to keep her, she was stunning but sadly i was living elsewhere then and just didn't have any room. She did go to live at a farm though with her sister, so the end wasn't bad.

Re: My Hare'y monkeys again
Thanks everyone
Feel kinda bad saying it here, lol, but Clover will possibly be having her second litter soon, she'll be due about 13th April give or take a day if she does.
It will be her last litter, i have few homes lined up already
I can't wait to have little buns about again, they are such a pleasure to have around.
Hoping things go smoothly, but not hoping she has 11 again if it does! baby Hares are a lot of work
When they're all grown and homed and i have a huge anti climax, haha! I will then be looking into rescuing a couple of guinea-pigs and possibly a bun or two too to fill up my spare time! Lots of plans for the summer!

They are stunning, I am in love
In 10 years or so when my little bunsters have gone to the bridge, I am defo going to get a hare and an agouti rex.

Re: My Hare'y monkeys again
Clover had 16 kits this morning between 3am and 12noon
I only expect half of those to survive to next week though if she looks after them, many are very small, 2 were outside of the nest and stone cold and one has a minor hemorrhage where the umbilical cord was...but i'll be happy even if half a dozen survive. Her last litter was 11 in 2009 and 5 died in first week with the remaining 6 growing into stunning buns. To be expected with such large litters though, shame i haven't a surrogate mother to take some weight of her.
This monstrosity of a picture is the best i can do for now, mums locked in today hoping she'll bond with them, with the last failed litters she had its touch and go as to whether her instincts will kick in properly this time, but i'm hoping very much so that some good comes of it!
Will give it about 3 days, then i'll have a proper look at what we have and get some better pictures!

Oh my goodness 16! Look at those tiny little things, aww.
I hope mum bonds with them and they do well. Come on little ones!
