Rosie & Hutch's tunnel to the lawn

Post by Vince the bunny on Fri Mar 25, 2011 7:33 pm

I pinched the trio's tunnel and attached it to R & H's run to see if it would reach the lawn and it did (so I have ordered the trio another set up so they don't lose out).

Rosie was like a rat down a drain! A possible route of escape, she eyed it up and nipped down it like a shot! Hutch loves being on the lawn, he was out sunbathing this afternoon. There is a mix of grass and soil areas, so they have been having a good old dig, and the pond rockery has slowly moved its way into the enclosure to stop them both digging their way out!

I've posted a few pictures to show you their improved set up

We had neighbours who had a pair of very pampered buns. Their garden was terraced and the buns lived on one complete terrace which had been fenced in. There were chicken wire tunnels that took them down to the lower terraces and into another run. It was ingenious. Your set up reminded me of it.

I think they are very happy cos they have almost stopped pooping all around their main run overnight That must be their way of saying thank you! I close off the lawn run overnight as they have been digging lots and I can't keep an eye on it whilst I'm asleep!! I've improved the roof as well to make it more secure as Rosie WILL suss out how to get out once she's checked it for weak spots (crafty little thing, but that's why I love her so much).

I'm alreading planning the next stage, another pipe leading to a third run at the back of the garden. As long as the kids can play in the middle of the garden and no one trips over the pipes, I'm sure DH won't notice their expanding empire!

Wow that looks fab!

Johns basically has his hutch in garden and then free reign of the garden!!! He has a tunnel out there and there are places to hide but whenever I have bought him something he never plays with it or around it! He pebbles in the corner and I clear up on a regular basis (pebble mountain as it is affectionately known)!
