Hmm...poop?
Hey everyone,
Penelope has not yet pooed today I don't think.
She is eating and has drank a little but so far no poop. I say I don't think as when I let her out this morning her litter box was full of poop, and she'd accidently pooped alot next to her litter tray too, but I don't know if that was from yesterday/overnight or this morning.
But as yet, as far as I can tell since I cleaned her cage out, she has not pooped today, she normally does after having some food but she seems herself. She is quite bouncy and willing to have nose rubs, she is lying down currently and has done most of the day, but that doesn't worry me as much as she normally does anyway in the day.
So, what am asking really is, should I be worried she has not yet pooped? She is eating, and normally when she doesn't eat or poop I take her straight to the vet but since she is eating I'm not sure on what to do.
Should I just keep an eye on her and watch to see if she poops eventually today?
Any ideas/advice?

Re: Hmm...poop?
What is going on with our bunnies recently
Is she drinking? If she hasn't pooped, I would be on alert, but not nec. rushing to the vets just yet, as she seems fine in herself. Are you able to give her abdomen a rub/massage? If she reacts badly to that then it could indicate a problem. See what happens after she has her dinner and keep us posted.

Oh dear ! Can just agree with jay and say keep a close eye on her and give her a little massage if she lets you . Fingers crossed for some poo action!

Re: Hmm...poop?
Honestly...these buns keep us on our toes eh?!
Since posting my thread, Penelope was hiding under her unit on her blankie , looking totally grumpy and wouldn't eat. Then, around 90 mins or so ago, Penelope let me pick her up and I managed to massage her belly, it did feel quite hard, harder then I'd ever felt before anyway.
I gave her a good litte massage, and she ate some rocket from my hand, as well as a bit of hay and a few licks of water. Still no poop though.
However, 40 mins ago, Penelope jumped into her cage and started eating her pellets and hay like she'd never eaten in her life, then did so many poops I thought she'd fill her litter box!
Then she jumped up next to me and was nudging me for nosey rubs and playtime like she hadn't had me worried all day!!
Cheeky thing!
It seems as though she is feeling herself again, I can see her now happily munching on hay and her treat bar!
So, was it the little massage I gave her that helped? Or having some rocket?
If it was the massage, what would that mean and should I ring the vets tomorrw and book her in? Or is it not an immediate threat as she is booked in for her VHD Vacc on Friday so should I just wait till then?
These bunnies eh?! I swear she is making me grey early!

Re: Hmm...poop?
Possibly a bit of both. Sometimes it can be a bit of trouble with transit, so the massage might have just helped things on their way and the food would have prompted her tummy to work.
Glad she is feeling better.

Re: Hmm...poop?
Tummy massages and/or Oval can help with minor stomach slow downs. My one guy has the occassional problem (usually presenting as smaller/odd shaped or decreased poops, and flattening his hind quarters down into the ground) and I just automatically start him on Oval.
