allow messages question in preferences

hi! the 'allow members to contact you through'.... one of the first questions....what does this mean? it is defaulted to 'no' but does that mean no-one can pm me apart from moderators or what?

"allow members to contact me through email" as far as i am aware it means that if you check the box as "no" your email address remains private, only admin (sooz) can see it (not even us mods). if you check the other boxes I think it may appear in your profile as a button that says "email this person" or some such.


i do not have it checked because I don't want people spamming me. if someone wants my email they can always PM me but just for extra security I like to keep it private, on the surface at least.
