Back in for daily jabs. Today I got to have one too

The vet says Molly's chest seems a bit clearer still, so she seems to be improving slowly day by day.

Today's injection was a long-acting antibiotic so we only have to have them every three days. The humans are off on holiday tomorrow and we're being left in the care of the most wonderful neighbours in the world, on strict instructions that if they are worried about us at all then we are to go and spend the week at the vet's. So I have to be on my best behaviour

Humum is feeling a bit less frantic with worry as she knows we're getting the best possible care - she would have cancelled the holiday if she didn't need one so desperately. Apparently we can be hard work at time. But make up for it by being cute and adorable

Wish us luck, and I hope that when they get back it will be all good news for you guys. (Humum won't leave the internet on for me to use while they are away ) Thank you so much for your good wishes, hoppers

Molly died on Friday

She seemed to rally after Monday's and Thursday's injections, but went rapidly downhill on Friday.

She died in the arms of the neighbour who was looking after us, just as they pulled into the car-park at the vets.

There's been an initial post-mortem which showed slight 'nodules' on her lungs, more on one than the other. Tissue samples from these are being sent for analysis - it's definitely Pasteurella, hopefully they can pin it down to a particular strain and come up with a treatment strategy.

Oh no! I am so very sorry.

I really hoped she was on the mend after reading your post before this one.

I've read back and what I have put seems really cold and clinical. It's just really difficult to know what else to say. She was a character of her own, and a very sweet bun. When she was well she would race into the house and jump on the sofa and demand to be fed, as that was where she got fed when she was poorly

We'll all miss her horribly
