magnum litter training (update)
hey so it been 3 days, i think, since i started litter training magnum. And to my amazement he's doing really well for a little fella. The first night i put the tray in the corner he had been pooping and peeing but he just swapped corners so the next night i put it in the other corner put more poop and pee in it and left him to it. In the morning there wasnt a drop of pee in his cage!
He plays in the kitchen in the day and figured it wouldnt hurt to bring his litter tray through, although there was no pressure for him to use it outside his cage, but to my suprise he pee'd in his tray....there hasnt been a drop of pee on the floor in 2 days now!!
Although he is still pooping on the floor, not as much, but its still there Still i'm not to bothered about the poop

My 2 both wee in their trays but the poo is everywhere
Dont mind so much as they are outdoor buns and can easily replace the poo'd on newspaper

Re: magnum litter training (update)
Well done Magnum its great when they finally get it and I am so happy i can now say that!!
Re: magnum litter training (update)
thanks guys. Magnum is still doing really well, woke up this morning to find poop all over his cage but not a drop of pee....i'm so proud of him
Not sure how to tackle the poop business tho, i'm not to bothered about him pooping out his box but figured while were still litter training i might as well keep trying.
I'm using paper towel at the bottom of the tray too absorb the wee and covering with hay for him to eat. I pick the poop up every morning and place it in the tray, i also change the towel and hay each day too, but just leave a little of pee and poop in there so he can smell himself....so and ideas on what else i can do to encourage him to poop in the litter
like i say i'm not to fussed if he doesnt poop in it, but it would be nice

Re: magnum litter training (update)
Sometimes they do tend to broadcast their poop in a new territory. It is a kind of poo and grab technique which means 'wherever I lay my poo, it's my home!. Once he's satisfied with his territorial gains, he will settle down.
