My little Daisy girl.
I found Daisy dead this morning. She must have passed away through the night. I am devastated. I will post more about her and what few photos I have of her later.
Sleep well, my little girl.

Re: My little Daisy girl.
Sorry to hear that. Her passing would have happened a lot earlier if it had not been for you taking her and giving her a lovely home. She was able to feel loved and cared for at the end of her life.

Re: My little Daisy girl.
No idea of the cause - she was losing weight drastically prior to this, though. After many vet trips, though, she was on the mend. She was only four.
So anyways, in memory of Daisy -
The start of Daisy's life starts with Vivi, her brother, and my first bunny. Daisy belonged to my sister's daughter.
Neither of us knew a damn thing about bunnies, and like so many others, thier life began with ignorant owners. But wheras I slowly started to improve life for Vivi, even getting him a partner, my sister didn't, and would not listen. Eventually, she bred Daisy with a second lonely bunny she bought. Those babybuns survived and went on to live with others, I have no idea where they are or how they are doing now. My sister bred from her again shortly after, and with a litter of nine, Daisy could not cope and ignored them. That was a horrible time... I was furious at my sister then and we actually fought.
After that, my sister got bored of Daisy, started to forget about her food, her water, cleaning her. She hardly ever had hay. Very soon Daisy began to get really thin.
Then one night I'd had enough, I stole her from her hutch in my sister's garden and brought her home. I got her weight back up, got her speyed and jabbed.
Then I started to bond her with Freya, which was much more painless than I expected. Freya is a very demanding bunny, but Daisy is such a softie, she grooms anything that moves. She loved being with Freya and next to Freya and groomed her all the time. Freya used to run circles around her.
I gave them a cage with a pen attached so they had plenty room, to run around and stretch, even if they did destroy the bedding and just didn't get what the litter tray was for - with no lack of trying on my part!
Then sadly, my bright-eyed, friendly bunny who wasn't afraid of anything or shy of anyone (even my dogs) passed away through the night. Sleep well, my little girl. I hope you had some peace in the end.

Re: My little Daisy girl.
The difference in her eyes between the third and fourth photos is amazing - you obviously worked wonders for her and managed to give her a wonderful life, after the horrible start she had.
You should be proud of yourself, although I know you will miss her terribly

Re: My little Daisy girl.
Thanks everyone for your kind words. I miss her so much - she was always the only bunny who would come out to greet me when I went into the bunny room. Its so odd going in and having bunnies ignore me!
Freya is less apathetic - she is actually coming to get stroked which she never did before :-(
I am going to a rescue on Thursday to attempt to bond Freya hopefully with Cid, and if not into a three with whichever buns of mine will have her, as Im sure Freya is not in need of time to grieve.
