Oh, Kate! This saddens me to hear. It is so difficult to loose somebun and even more so when it was sudden and unexpected! I grieve with you.

Re: Can they have 'just an off day'??
Thanks everyone for your kind words.
When we went to the vets this morning the vet asked what breed she was (while Dan was getting her out of the car) I told him she was a dwarf lop and he said maybe it was a heart problem that had killed her ...are dwarf lops more prone to heart problems or something??
He checked her over and said he couldn't see any reason for her to have died, she had clear eyes, no nose/eye/bum discharge or anything.
The fact that she ate some grapes and cabbage last night, makes it almost more difficult to comprehend...surely she shouldn't of eaten at all?!
To be honest..I am feeling guilty.
They all had maxi jab, and were due their VHD just before we went on honeymoon...but I didn't take them I had almost a week to take her before we went and I didn't .....and on monday I even rang to check they would have enough in stock for me to take 4 rabbits, they said yes just bring them whenever...but I didn't take them last week and I should of.
I asked the vet if it could be VHD..but he said he didn't think so there would be signs...what signs??

Re: Can they have 'just an off day'??
I think for VHD the signs they look for are bleeding from any place like bum, nose etc
In 2010 I had a tiny lop called Nelly, she was only 2 months old when she died and she was eating, drinking and pooing perfectly, no discharge from nose or anything. The vet then suggested two things a heart problem or she was imply too young.
Hopefully someone else can come along and enlighten us.

I'm so sorry what a shock
Rabbits with VHD usually bleed from their nose, mouth and bottom and I don't think she had VHD.

Oh sweetheart I am so very sorry for your pain. I was going to say that Snuffie has off days and then is OK again, but I am so sorry this is not the case for little Hazel.
I bet you feel wretched; we are all here for you and lots of love is on its way.
Hugs
JO xx

I am really sorry for your loss, however you mustn't feel guilty.
The symptms didnt seem to be VHD.
You must be really sad though. Two of my bunnies died last year of old age and although i knew it was coming i was still very distraught.
I hope you find out what was wrong with her.
i am sure everyone one at HH wishes you and your bunnies the best.

Thanks everyone for kind messages.
She's been cremated, as I have nowhere here to bury her.
Miss my poor little Hazel..it seems strange not seeing her run out the door each morning
