Lexy - not sure what to do U/D she's gone

Lexy is very unwell. She is unsteady on her feet and you can see in her eyes she just isn't right.

I don't know what to do. If we take her to the vet, it's a one way trip I don't know if we should go now, or if she can hang on. I don't know if she's in pain - she isn't squeaking and lets us stroke her. And she is eating.

I don't know what's best for her

It is very hard but sometimes all you can do is be with her.

I can only tell you what I would do.... if she seems to be comfortable, I think I would just leave her for now.

We have left her be. When I left her, she had fallen asleep in her food store corner. I put her some bedding in the corner as she felt a little cold. She barely stirred. I don't think she'll be with us in the morning.

Have you a heat pad you can put under a blanket for her or near her Bless her
and all you can really do is make her as comfortable as possible

It's horrible when sometimes all you can do, and the best thing to do, is nothing.

She's still with us, but only just. When I went in this morning, she was curled in a tight ball. She barely stirred as I picked her up - her little nose twitched and her paws moved a little, and she was breathing but she didn't open her eyes.

I gave her a kiss and we've put her back to sleep.

The pyometra has finally caught up with her - she's done so well to last this long with it.

Well, our lexy bear is hanging in there. We keep checking her, and she stirs a little as we stroke her. I'm astounded she's still here to be honest. We're trying to keep her warm and comfortable, poor little sweetie.

Lexy went to the bridge this afternoon.

She hung on bravely, I've never known a hamster with such fight!

While we're obviously sad, we are pleased she's at peace, and that she was able to die in her sleep at home.

We'll get her a plant and bury her tomorrow.
