Bum Wash

Post by Ruffin on Sat Aug 24, 2013 1:50 pm

What does everyone use for bumwashing (for the bunnsters that is not for me) just that since the last twice we have washed Ruffin and she has to be washed quite a lot as she dribbles quite a lot due to the bladder prob that she had now her fur seems to be falling out around the wash area and even thinking about a bald Ruffin is a thing of nightmares No  also you cant get bunny bum wigs Hmmm so any sujestions would be very much apreciated

So sticking her in the washing machine isn't really an option then. I will see if I can get some thanks

We use a Johnson's small animal shampoo.

If she is constantly damp around that area, it might be worth asking the vet to clip that area short for her Thumbs Up

A bunny bodkin now there's an idea!Laughing

I had a similar problem when Clarabel (rip piggy) went off her legs after a fall and she ended up with quite bad urine scald. I turned to gorgeous guineas for advice as they do really good products. They do some 'kind and gentle' shampoos and also some treatment shampoos. They also do some really good lotions and creams. I used calendula cream on Clarabel and I have also used it on Bruce's scurfy ears and bald patch from over de fluffing a while back. The people at gorgeous guineas are really knowledgeable about what products of theirs can be used for buns so I would suggest dropping them an email before ordering anything.
