Hi guys,

Can I please ask you to cast your memory back to this thread about my friends bun, who is still suffering Sad After returning from the vet  when the owner noticed his itchiness and the thinning of his fur on his back a small lump that looked like a bite was found over his left eye, on the bone ridge of his eye socket. The rabbit wasn't scratching it.
Spot-On was used as fleas were suspected. The itching stopped and now, two weeks on that spot over the rabbits eye looks bigger, big enough to show through his fur. It also as a crumbly, crusty sort of scab on it. It doesn't bother the rabbit but what is it?
The rabbit was given the new 2 in 1 vaccine on 18th March.
He showed signs of lethargy and depression during May - June and progressed as stated.
The rabbit is taking 0.6ml of Metacam in two doses  (0.3 X 2) daily  for "suspected" arthritis. Could the pain, which can be so bad he stops eating, and the lump and itching and wobbly hind legs be something connected to the vaccine OR a case of myxi (maybe subcutaneous)?

Thanks for any thoughts, I know nothing about this so I'm not in a position to help Sad

Just had a very quick search online and came across someone whose rabbits had a lump just below the eye which was attributed to the combi jab. I don't think this is a big issue generally and it is probably just bad luck. It might be worth suggesting this to the vet for investigation.

Thank you, Nickie. I was at a work function yesterday and didn't have the energy to even google it! My post was mostly a copy and paste job Embarassed I did however mention to the owner that I felt myxi was unlikely Smile

Has there been no response from Richard Saunders?

I would still be really tempted to change vets.

My understanding is that Richard Sauders is currently overseas but is doing everything he can to help Smile

I believe his owner is talking with another vet.
