Naughty bunnies :( Empty Naughty bunnies :(

They have been misbehaving so much since they came back from holidays Sad

They won't stop chewing the walls, I managed to cover 2 of the bits they were chewing but the other is now down to the metal (its an external corner), they've put another hole in the carpet (a small one, but still). Normally they get to stay out all evening but I have had to put them away as it was really getting out of hand. They are naughty quite frequently generally but this is incessant proper damage.

They are begging worse than ever, I mean they always beg but this is something else. They have loads of hay (loose and a hay block, I've also tried putting some dried forage in with the hay) both in their litter tray and in the living room as well as a willow ball, chew mat and same material chew ball. Normally they are excited when they get hay but they are not seeming too interested. They did get a bit of different hay when at the boarding but it was just farm hay (they get timothy as T is fussy). And now today somebun has had a sore tum and there is uneaten cecal in the pen. I've had a look at both their bums but they are both clean so I don't know who it was. They are both shovelling food down so whoever it was is apparently ok now.

So fed up, I hope they get back to normal soon Sad

I sympathise, it's so piggin' frustrating!!! And they are relentless with it aren't they?! HBWS

Before we went on holiday last year we painted all the nibbled skirtings and doors and they came straight home and chewed them again. It really wasn't funny.

What I did with them when we did the same this year was shake my car/house keys whenever they went to do it as they don't like the noise and it stopped them in their tracks. Seems mean but desperate times call for desperate measures!

I hope they pack it in soon, for your walls and your sanity!

We behave ourselves when the Hu-parents go on / get back from holiday because nice Uncle Steve next door comes in to look after us. Layla fell in love with him last time when he accidentally gave Jack and Layla double rations Laughing  (fortunately the hu-parents were only away for a couple of nights).

Is there anyone you could trust enough to stay in your house and look after the buns in their own environment if you go away again?

I hope they calm down soon. Tell Temperance buns on the Norty Step don't get new hats Thumbs Up

Igave this with Daisy when he has been on his happy hols. I would try popping some olbas oil on the wall (the smell will fade after an hour or so). Good luck.

Thumper they keys idea would work for Temperance but not MJ, very little discourages him apart from physically stopping him.

I tried covering the corner of the wall he was chewing and let them out but he just almost immediately started pulling off the plastic I'd covered it with. I'll get some olbas oil from the shop tomorrow and hope that works, in the mean time I have had to put them away again. I feel so bad putting them away but I really don't know what else to do, they have more than enough fresh hay. I am giving them some fresh and dried herbs but don't want to give them too much esp after somebun having a sore tum the other day Sad

Sparky, I did ask my mum if she would do it as she only lives a few minutes drive away but she wanted me to arrange for my sister to do them some days as well. Last time I asked my sister the bunnies didn't get their breakfast until mid day. My mum ended up hurting her ribs quite badly anyway so she couldn't have done it. We don't know anyone else local that could do them- that would be the ideal solution. There is a local pet sitter who I have seen leaflets for recently but I've not idea if they are any good with rabbits, I don't know anyone else around with rabbits (or any other animal) that would have used them :/

I rubbed olbas oil on my furniture when they showed any interest and it definitely detered them, but you need to reapply often. WD 40 would work as it is really stinky.

Paul I am pretty sure you are right! They also had their nails trimmed whilst on holiday so I was asking for it really Rolling Eyes

I forgot to get olbas oil Rolling Eyes

I went to PaH and got a couple of bags of dried forage (and saw a work experience kid drop one of the buns she was playing with Mad ), I've also given them their big box back (I took it off them because they were eating it). I've mixed in LOADS of forage with their hay and between that and ripping at the box they have only been mildly destructive. Or maybe they've learned their lesson after being shut away for several days in a row? Pfft. As if.

I think so, the girl was sitting on the floor already so the bunny only dropped about 18", the girl saw me and I made this face :o I informed the member of staff who served me that the bunny had been dropped. She said she would make sure it was ok and have a word with the kids about handling them. I felt a bit bad for those involved as it was not intentional and I think the staff member was just trying to think of things for them to do but better to have a quiet word and hopefully next time they'll have closer supervision when handling the animals.

Snuffles was a very naughty bunny so I do sympathise with you hun.  I too hope they soon return back to normal and stop being cross with you.  If buns are upset they will either do this or completely ignore their huparents.  Please keep us updated.
