Got started on frame for the cosey hides, sore arm now but pleased done them with very little help. I had to go out and but angle brackets, the screws were just splitting the wood. Length of wood had s twist in it to so had bit bother getting uprights on. Got there, enough wood to do another 2 but need more brackets.

You need to drill a pilot hole at least the depth of the screw to stop the wood splitting Thumbs Up

If you are using a #6 screw (about 3mm diameter) use a 2mm drill for the pilot hole. If they are #8 screws (4mm diameter) use a 3mm drill.

If the screws are 1/2" (13mm) long, drill your pilot hole 1/2" deep.

Tried that still split. Possible the quality of the wood. Need to do the sides today, then get the base and lid, which want to hinge on so can clean them out easier.
