Protecting carpet question!

Post by Oggie & Flower on Thu Nov 21, 2013 1:36 pm

Hi Guys

So the plan is that I want to increase Oggie's free ranging time by leaving him out during the night. The only thing he will rarely do is dig up the carpet (interestingly he'll only dig in areas which are already chewed from when he was younger!) and if he does start carpet obsessing - it's always late at night!

I was wondering what other people have used to protect the carpet? Would NIC grids work?

He doesn't eat any carpet - just digs it up! I also can't move furniture to cover the chewed up bits as his favourite place is under the radiator.

Thank you!

I cover the bits up with tiles - you can get odd ones from b and q for a couple of quid :-)

Tiles work so well and you can get some pretty ones. Now If I can just keep Rory from peeing on the carpet in the living room...

Basically, you can't!  Laughing

Mine pulled up the carpet in the corners and ripped it up along the skirting boards.  They were relentless and just would not leave it alone.  You can put heavy tiles into corners to stop them digging there but you just need to keep them busy so they have so much to do that they don't need to dig.  Not easy.
