Dental Spurs (pic)

Post by Littleboots on Sat Feb 01, 2014 10:02 pm

For anyone who thinks it maybe ok to wait a while before having dental spurs treated... look at this pic
This bunny of mine refused breakfast one morning so took her straight to the vets... a spur was seen and she was kept in and had a dental the same day
She had not gone off food until that morning.... how.... i will never know  my vet took this pic for me

thankfully..... she came home and ate for england.....  Very Happy

This is going to sound totally weird, but i love this picture, its so clear, and not often you get such a good view of dental spurs. Ive felt them before and i find dentals so interesting...when done by a rabbit savvy vet, otherwise theyre just horriffic to assist with!! No

I think some buns tolerate them so well because its a gradual thing, maybe? If it was to happen over night, can you imagine!! Shocked owch!! Dont you have another recent one? She has them quite often, doesnt she? xxx

Ouch  Shocked

It's amazing how things affect buns differently. We had all that last year with Reggie, blood tests and all sorts when she stopped eating and finally the third vet to look in her mouth saw a tiny sore on her tongue and it turned out to be the tiniest, tiniest spur.

I don't think you are weird as I know what you mean and I have saved the photo ( hope you don't mind June ) as it's so clear I can show customers what a dental spur is as a lot don't know.

I think that's a brilliant photo  Thumbs Up
