Letty Lop at the vet's today for check up/ UD 'All Clear'

Post by Tuckerbunnies on Fri May 23, 2014 3:44 pm

I've sent Letty Lop along with Churchill today for a check up. Letty is the bunny with a splay leg that sticks out to one side but when we got her she was younger and smaller and her leg didn't seem a problem. I've noticed she seems very quiet just lately and she is a big girl now and that splay leg is a lot bigger than the rest of her legs and I'm wondering if it is causing her some problems. I worry that she may need to have the leg removed I know at the end of the day it's what's best for Letty and to make life better for her but it's still a worry.  Sad

I also think she could have a urine infection which worries me also as she seems to be a lot bigger on one side than the other I know this is mainly down to her splay leg but I just feel that Honor should have a look at her.

So more worry.

Update on Letty 4:58pm

The good news the leg doesn't have to be removed , the bad news she has a bladder infection and a touch of urine scald  Sad
she has to have no pellets or greens just hay as she needs to lose weight. Honor think's with her having a splay leg and being
a bit overweight  Embarassed  she can't lift her bottom properly to wee and hence the urine scald.  Sad

Mike gives them the pellets and I do the greens and I am forever saying to him to cut down on the pellets so I am a bit annoyed
at him really.  Sad

It is a sigh of relief all round love and I am also pleased that darling Letty is going to keep her little leg. I am sending lots of top up vibes for the urinary infection and I do so hope it clears up soon.

Hugs

Thursday 29th May.

Letty has been for her check up and Honor is amazed at how well it all looks as the urine scald has completely cleared up she couldn't believe it.

We used the Fuciderm cream and the wonderful magic Hypocare spray.  Smile
