I have missed you guys!!!
Janet Oasis Animal Reiscue has asked me to write a Q & A column for them, she wanted 2 to start, so that meant 2 topics, with a big load of typing for me & so much thinking my head hurt. Now I have to send them off for her to read. I hope she doesn't want to change much or whats the point of me doing this. Because I have no experience writing I was up late nights tweeking & going over them not wanting to forget anything. I kept thinking what have I got myself into &  I'm to old for this.
I'm nervous about the whole thing. What if I can't answer the questions that come in, what if I don't know enough,  haven't read enough what if there's lots of them, Janet says I'll do fine, I wish she'd tell my tummy that.
From now on the column will be one a month once it sfarts, but she wanted 2 months, 1 ahead.

With spring here almost!!!  We've been busy little beavers outside, right now I want to crawl in Bunnys box & sleep for a month, but he won't move over SleepSleepSleep

Bunny went for a vet check, vets name is Wendy, she said he's in great shape, he was a good boy until she was done, then he flicked her, she says he's opinionated, he's oviously not picky about who he flicks
Two things she wants changed, which I knew, is his amount of pellets, she said cut back 1 tsp. a day , but by day 3 Bunny was so mad he started pulling up the carpet in his pen, she wants him eating more hay, Bunny has other ideas, he has never been a big hay eater, even when he was a baby, even at that he has only ever eaten the chaffe. I have him on 5 different kinds, trying to entice him, but it hasn't worked.Could I have your thoughts please, any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Sorry I have rattled on so much, Thanks for listening

Hey Judy xxx

Sounds like you have been so busy! Amazing thing to be doing though :-)

So if he won't way hay - you could try him on fresh grass - it's just as good for them as hay and he might be keener to eat it :-)

We have missed you too Judy xx

Wow..you have been busy! I'm sure your Q & A column will be great. Try not to worry, you have us for support. If you get tricky questions, I'm sure all the Happy Hoppers will help you!

Good to hear Bunny is in great shape! Perhaps reduce his amount of pellets slowly... a little less over several weeks, until you get to the recommended amount. As for hay, maybe some of the other HH can come up with some ideas as mine are not the best hay eaters as they constantly munch the grass xxx

Hello Wave

I am very impressed by your hard work and dedication in raising bunny awareness. Well done, I am sure you will be great Thumbs Up

And yes as Katie has said grass is as good as hay, if not better. At the bunny talk last weekend FHB implied that grass is probably better for wearing down teeth than hay. She showed us a picture of her barn of hay that wildies don't eat, although they do nest in it! There preferred diet is grass - plus other plants, roots etc

Hello again Wave

Your new column sounds very exciting. Try not to worry - I'm sure myself and the other hoppers will be happy to give help whenever needed. You'll do great! Hugs

As for the hay issue, I think the grass suggestion is great. It is really good for them (as Sixer said, if you think about it, that's what wildies live on!) Very Happy

Hi Judy,
Good to hear from you. As all others said don't worry about questions that you may not know an answer to. You got the HH encyclopaedia available.
Grass is good to try. It should be freely available by now.
Thumbs Up Hugs Wave

I've always been a great advocate of wild forage, especially grass.
Been out everyday for about a fortnight now collecting Henry is daily grass.
I do get some odd looks as I examine the grasses for signs of slug/snail slime. And he eats it a lot faster than I gather it!

Go you Happy Dance Sounds like you've been a busy bee!! I'm sure we will forgive your absence, it's for the skin of bunking, after all!

What hay do you feed? Marley never used to eat much hay, until he had a friend and he seemed to learn. I've found a lot of buns to suddenly learn to eat more hay when there is another bun. I'm not saying go get him a friend immediately, it's just an observation.

Have you thought about mixing his pellets/greens/treats/forage all in with his hay? I've found that has helped a few of my buns to eat more hay too. They also adore the hay for pets hay. I also hear that timothyhay.co.uk are also nommy xx
