Hay consumption has plummeted

Post by Thumper2001 on Sun May 31, 2015 1:52 pm

the last few days.

Whyyyyyyy!!! Hissy

Last two morning the hay wheel has still been full from the previous night.

Think I'm going to cut their evening veg down and see if that helps.

we had to cut out nuggies and veggies to get the buns on a good hay diet. now they eat loads and loads, and spend al day out eating hay too.

You sure they haven't just gone off the current bag?

So they don't eat veg or nuggies at all? I think Molly would kill me in my sleep if I took her nuggies away Laughing

Unfortunately not, we are part way through a big bag of Ings and part way through Alfalfa King Timothy Sad

Tbh, I think I probably give them too much veg anyway. It's something I've been thinking about cutting back on anyway Embarassed

They also have a carrot cottage just now. I sometimes wonder if they have something to do with it Suspect

The don't leave it alone in the evening. Sleepy rabbits will sleep at night, not eat hay!!!

Henry is forage mad these days. He will eat all his Burgess (2 eggcup fulls, 1 morning, 1 night) and nibble hay whilst toileting but wild forage is top of his list, I'm not buying any veggies now.

I do a lot of for ageing at present. Fresh hawthorn shoots are the no 1 here. Though D'Layla has softer poos since a few days I'm not sure it is because of the greens.

Think I shall have to do some explaining tomorrow ... the estate have been mowing all the green lanes where I forage and there's nothing much left!
Hope the hay will fill the void. Henry has been so full of go whilst eating wild forage ... too full of it at times, like a darned thoroughbred steeplechaser the way he's been scooting around and binkying. The vet was right, he's a lean, mean hopping machine!

Glad you got to the bottom of it hun... I think maybe they thought they hadn't given you a mild breakdown in a while and thought they'd sort that out! lol

Sending nose rubs to the terrible twosome!
