Decided to go along to this tonight, glad we did as it was very good and informative Smile

They did the diagnostic imaging part first (Jenna Richardson is the vet MJ has been seeing at the vet school, she's so nice), it was very interesting. They covered X-rays, ultrasound and CT scans. She had lots of picture examples in the slideshow of various different conditions in rabbits, showing healthy images vs images from problem rabbits and explained what the issues were and why each method of imaging was better for that particular issue. I learned that most diagnostic imaging is done while the rabbit is conscious, only sedating/using anaesthetic if necessary. For the CT scan they have a "rat trap" they put the bunnies in which is a clear plastic tube that they pad out with towels and can put the bunnies in and not worry about them wandering off and escaping. The CT scan can picture 25 'slices' of a normal size rabbit head :o

The EC part was done by Kevin Eatwell as unfortunately Emma Keeble was unwell (I think it was maybe Emma we dealt with for T last year), and was very informative/educational. I'm not going to try and recite too much of what I'd learned as it was quite in depth (but still mostly understandable). He talked about typical symptoms, how EC 'works', how it can be tested for, how and when to treat. Most interesting for me was learning that although MJ tested positive for a second time, the chances are this was due to the EC still being present in his system but having being made dormant by the panacaur, but then for some reason becoming active again. I had assumed that he had been reinfected due to something we had done (or not done) but he said thats not likely to be the case, which was good to hear.

So yeah, glad we went along and I will definitely do my best to make it to the next one Smile

Lucky you. There's never anything like that near me in Lincolnshire.
