Pledge £1 a Month to Nibbles and win a Happy Bunny Club Box

Hello All,

This month we are promoting our 'Pledge £1 a Month' appeal towards the running costs of the rescue. The sad fact is that the unwanted, abandoned and neglected rodents and rabbits of West-Wales have very little rescue help and Nibbles is the only specialist rescue catering for these animals throughout Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, & Ceredigion. As a result Nibbles is asked to help a large number of animals - we already have a list of rabbits waiting to come in as soon as placements are available.

Each rabbit costs the rescue between £80-£90 for routine care when they arrive. This covers neutering, vaccinating, worming and spot-on treatment. Monthly care bills are between £150 - £200 each month.

By signing up to donate £1 each month you will be helping towards meeting these costs. Alone your £1 won't make a huge difference but the idea here is strength in numbers if 20 people sign up the rabbit hay will be paid for each month, if 40 people sign up their pellets have been paid for and if 60 people sign up that will cover spaying a doe - you get the idea.

As way of a thank you, each month we will randomly select a name from our bank statement and you will win a small prize. Winners will be announced on on the Nibbles FB Pageand of course you will need to contact the Nibbles page to give us your address to send your prize.

To launch the Happy Bunny Club have donated one their fantastic boxes to Nibbles for us to give away to one lucky winner. Thanks Katie, we have a huge target to reach of 100 people signing up. Sadly we are not even anywhere near close to reaching this goal just yet. Having run a rescue previously in Devon I can say for certain that the situation around here is dire. Having to deal with 3 counties is is pushing our resources to the limits and without regular and continued support the numbers we are having to place on waiting list is getting longer. As we all know people don't want to wait so rabbits (and rodents) end up advertised as 'Free to Good Home' and who knows where they will end up when that occurs. We all pray they end up with a good home but sadly many don't.

We have many long term goals for Nibbles which includes increasing the number of placements we can offer. Looking at the numbers from the last 6 months we need to be offering at least 50 placements for rabbits - this is a HUGE number of rabbits to cater for and while we have the space and time, it is the funds which prevent us from doing this. This number shows you just how bad the situation is here in West-Wales. We have had much less 'interest' when it comes to people wanting to hand in rodents (with only 2 chinchillas and a hamster coming in from the local area), but when it comes to rabbits we are being asked to take at least 2 rabbits every week! But with 17 rabbits currently awaiting funding for neutering we just can't take any more bunnies in. So the more support we can gain the more we can help, it really is that simple.

We do have paypal but obviously we get charged fees so loose part of your donation. So we are doing the £1 Pledge via standing order into our bank account. This ways everyone can also be part of the monthly prize draw.
