Oh S*d it...

Post by woodwench on Wed Oct 21, 2015 10:20 pm

Henry really is moulting again.
I guess it's because I've started with fires again and the house is warmer. He's losing fur on his face and back....... I could scream!

Yes, he's okay at the mo.. I hope this is no worse than the light shedding he did when he came to live here last year.
Yes, it's the curse of the house rabbit, and the bane of its owner!

My two are strange!! Junior visibly moults. I can pick tuft after tuft after tuft off that boy.

Molly?! Never a bit of fur out of place when you look at her! Yet it's her fur I find in all the nooks and crannies in their pen scratch

Henry is a real scruffy moulter. I can brush him, even get to pluck the odd tuft but he hates that. Richard, his vet, really gave him a good plucking the last time he saw him. I could hardly believe how much he was getting off his rump area and I could hardly believe Henners was letting him do it. Poor, Henry, he sat there hardly able to believe it himself!
It's hard to tell from the photos of Molly, her being black, but is she sleeker that Junior? His fur looks more like Henry's, thick and woolly/fluffy.... worse moulters.

Charlie has a fluffy skirt (which I plucked this morning much to his dismay) at the moment. I have no idea why this has just appeard given he finished his moult a while ago!

Charlie normally looks nice and sleek - annabelles coat is really thick and dense.....bless her, its her thing.

I love long haired bunnies but when I have had them in the past, they have hated being groomed.  Luckily Holly is a Rex and sheds very little hair.  I hope it's over soon honey.  That little skirt sounds cute.

Soundwave has no signs when molting fluff just floats about when he runs about and in the morning his pen looks like he's running a hairdressers.

Junior also hates having the tufts pulled. I don't understand it. It's not like it hurts! Perhaps it tickles Laughing

"Sleek" is exactly how I describe Molly's fur coat! It is very soft. Junior's fur is much more coarse.

I spend two hours last night plucking and brushing Vernon. It is crazy and his fur is wooly. I got a runny nose and itching eyes, not because of allergy but the sheer amount of fur flying about. Unable to get rid of the excess on my clothes I just binned it!

Henry's tummy moult is over and he seems to be about finished with the head moult. He looks okay on his body, his face is now dark grey and there's just his cheeks to finish moulting now. Oh, please, please, PLEASE let it finish there, don't let him start on his back. I'm just not ready for another "August".
