Does anyone else....
put hot water on their buns pellets for dinner in the winter?
Probably more of an outdoor Bun thing, but i do it for mine and they love it, just wondered if anyone else had done this?

Re: Does anyone else....
If never thought of doing that. I make their water warmer but I've never warned their niggies. I think I just assumed they would turn their noses up.

Never thought of that it must be like cornflakes and hot milk

my buns are indoor but I have done this for buns who are not eating and it seems to encourage them to eat.

Re: Does anyone else....
i had a very fussy, psycho rabbit a few years ago (RSPCA rescue case) who would only eat them with hot water on them, and then only in the winter. Summer food had to be the flakey 'protein' mix...
I have found not all Rabbits like the pellets, Tia wouldn't eat them, but my lodger has them, so when Tia died i tried Dillon on them and he loved them, so now both boys have hot water on them for their evening feed.

I never had a problem with Soundwave and food until he went on antibiotics for a long period of time, I have bought bags of food to see what type he would eat (Miranda gets to finish of the bags now, she loves it)
It is something I'm going to try at the weekend see how they get on especially since we getting cold stormy weather

Re: Does anyone else....
I have never tried that either love. All our bunnies have been indoor ones so they haven't had to face the outside for any length of time. It is certainly something new to try, thanks for sharing hun.

Henry is a dustbin, anything will vanish into the murky depths of his tum, but I'm not sure he would take to warm water on his 4+. He loves the crunch.

What a lovely unusual subject this is, Holly is pretty greedy too Woodwench love, she doesn't make her pellets last at all, but I just might try this.

Re: Does anyone else....
MJ hasn't been eating his pellets so much over the last few days, he had lost a little bit of weight so this was a concern. This morning I remembered about this thread! Gave him a small bowl of soaked pellets and they were gone when I got in from work
