She's lots better coughing has stopped the vet is worried cause since yesterday she has lost weight so diet out window just now until they can establish the weight loss isn't from her being sick. And her lungs are still clear.
Nurse gonna check her again at her weigh in xx

She didn't eat yesterday morning, that's why I syringe fed her but she soon perked up I think it was the diet that she lost weight, I'm gonna keep a close eye on her.

Re: Cough/wheeze????
Your sure it's not a sneeze... Henry does some real rough sneezes that could be mistaken for a cough. It's the Pseudomonas in his nose that is causing it. He will soon be going back on Baytril to try and get rid of this infection. It's not troubling him at the moment and I want him to be more fully recovered before trying the Baytril just in case it was upsetting his tum.
I mention that because his sneezes often sound more like coughs.
Is she eating and drinking okay? Does doing either seem to make the coughing worse?
I'm wondering if she has something like an hay seed stuck in her throat.
Do you have another vets appointment?
He may want to sedate her and do an endoscopy. Poor little girl.

Re: Cough/wheeze????
Eating fine she just lying down a lot just now. It isn't associated with eating she just does it at random times. Her nose and eyes are clear her front paws show no signs of matting.
She definitely sneezed today which sounded different to the other times. But then I haven't heard a rabbit sneeze or cough before.
We have a diet appointment on Wed but they changed it to a check up, it with the rabbit specialist nurse, no more to see the vet as her coughing/sneezing had calmed down. Lacing her food with the antibiotics, as she is completely freaking out with the syringe, she's whimpering when she sees it(wonder what she's been through in the past). Calms down with cuddles.
I have also paused the bonding she can't be bothered just now and don't want the wee man to get it as well.
Thanks everyone for vibes, she's just a poor wee soul just now.

Re: Cough/wheeze????
Then it could be she has something like Henry... an infection like pseudomonas OR a foreign object like a hay seed up he nose, either in her nostril or her nasal cavity.
Can you hear her sounding wheezy/stuffy when she eats?

Re: Cough/wheeze????
It sounds like us wheezing. Henry didn't wheeze except when eating then you could hear his nose was blocked.
It's common for rabbits to get hay/grass seeds up their noses. Henry also got little wads of his own fur in his nose when he moulting. He regularly sneezed them out.

Re: Cough/wheeze????
Might be an allergy to marigolds? Never heard of that but... hey, these are rabbits we're talking about so anything's possible!
The fur wads could well be the answer. What do you groom with? I have a Zoom Groom for Henry. It really shifts the fur, and kindly, but you might need a mask when using it.... fur goes everywhere.
