Re: Pooping Question
Yes, he's feeling better which is in itself a worry. He's done a few binkies today... the spontaneous "boink" type and a couple of times he's launched himself out of his litter tray like a damned kangaroo.... how long before he's all hang-dog with sore muscles again?
I'm sure it's sore muscles that affect him pooping and yesterday and today as well as binkying he's looked more comfortable on his tray.
How the Devil can I calm him down and stop these sudden bursts of energy? They really are spontaneous, nine times out of ten they make me jump, and they are no good for his recovery.

Re: Pooping Question
I wish I had an answer for you love, it s a real problem. Short of sedating him a little bit but that is no good long term. What has the vet said?

Re: Pooping Question
I've got one of the plug ins. He's quite relaxed actually. It's just that when he's pain free and feeling himself again he ACTS like a fit, happy rabbit. That's when he finds out his injury isn't fully healed....
The vet says give him time. There's nothing else to do. Putting him in a cage again would only have him raging at the bars and that would not help anything. Plus restricting him too much will only lead to loss of muscle.... we just have to remove, or prohibit access, to anything he might leap off, skid on, fall off etc. etc..
It's like walking on egg shells.

Re: Pooping Question
Yes, Jo, time and probably a long time too if he doesn't behave sensibly.

Re: Pooping Question
Yes, I do believe it's that muscle problem that's upsetting him in his tray. I saw him do that funny back stretch they do when they have an uncomfortable back. I think falling off that stool put him back further than I thought. But He isn't suffering like he was when he had to be confined. He is generally relaxed and his appetite is good.
I've taken him off the Baytril for a few days to see if that helps... perhaps it makes him a bit constipated?
Anyone know if that's possible?

Re: Pooping Question
I don't know
This seems such an ongoing battle for you. If only you could sit him down and tell him what he needs to do to recover fully!

Re: Pooping Question
I sometimes think we "feed off each other"..... He picks up on my worry and reacts to it in a negative manner which makes me even more worried which feeds his negativity.... and so on , and on, and on.... Being alone, just me and him 24/7 we are very one-to-one and empathic.
I may be just a tad neurotic.
