hello
Hi. I have a mini lop called Kenickie for 4 weeks now. So he is now 12wks old. I have another mini lop called Zuko ready to leave his mum next week at 8wks old. Iv been watching loads of tutorials about bonding bunnies but all seem to be about bunnies who are much older. Could there still be potential problems with mine, even so young? And if so, anyone have advice for me? Thanks! Isobel

Re: hello
Hi there! Welcome to HH.
Nice to meet you :-)
The most vital thing is that they will both need to be neutered. Two boys will most definitely fight ... And not just a little bit, two in neutered males can actually do each other serious damage and are therefore unlikely to bond. So the best thing to do is to keep them next to each other, but not together until after they are both neutered and then they can be bonded.

Re: hello
Hi!
Katie is right with regards to the neutering. It is important in all bonds but is especially true for young buns as they hit a sort of puberty at around 6 months. This tends to be when the aggression starts and once a pair start fighting it is hard to undo. So the best chance of success is to get both boys neutered as soon as possible and don't put them together before then.

Hello
Agree with the answers already given, you'll need to get both neutered.
Love to see photos of your little ones. Keep us updated.

Re: hello
Thanks for the advice guys! My vet wont neuter Kenickie until at least 4 months old though 😕 was hoping that if puberty wasnt a factor just yet that having them meet under supervision would be ok and keeping them apart when unsupervised until the vet will allow neutering

Kenickie will be in as little as 4 wks from now.

Re: hello
Best not to risk things. Wait until about 6 or 7 weeks after neutering to introduce them ... that lets the hormones get out of their system. Fighting rabbits are not nice to see and two bucks rarely make up after a fight.
