Rabbit T-Touch

Post by woodwench on Tue Mar 01, 2016 11:06 pm

With Henry's diagnosis today I've read a lot of online stuff about heart disease in rabbits and also a bit about calming and stress relief methods and the Tellington Touch (T-Touch) is something I used to use on my dogs and it worked wonders on them, and me! We both enjoyed this simple massage and it relaxed us both and helped immensely with bonding and with relieving stress after/during ops/illness. So, starting tomorrow I am going to use the T-Touch method of massage on Henners as it is important he stay as relaxed and stress free as possible.
In case you are interested here's the info...

That s great.thanks for sharing. Will try this with snowflake at the shelter. He lurches whenever a hand comes close. Only bare skin he is better if a glove is worn. He is a RSPCA case and this is his third rescue place.

Henry has spent most of the day asleep so I've not tried the massage yet. About an hour ago he woke up, had a long drink, visited the tray (still having issues there), ate some hay, nosed around some then did a few jumps and a binky. That exhausted him so he's asleep again... still have some anaesthetic in his system I expect though he has been increasingly sleepy over the last few months, part of the heart thing.
