but thank goodness Henry is moulting again!

It's been a bit of a weekend.... he sneezed a couple of times on Saturday but I wasn't too worried, I mean a bun can sneeze twice without it meaning anything. But on Sunday he had several bouts of sneezing and I found wet paws in the evening though his nose looked clean. Looking close and watching him sneeze I noted it was his right paw that was wet and he looked to be having a "sneezy-itch" only up his right nostril. So I reasoned it probably wasn't the fluid on the lungs thing I dread that is caused by his heart condition ... his breathing was normal too with no stress, no open mouth and no weazing. I thought it all pointed to a return of the Pseudomonas he had last summer and so I discussed it over the phone with his vet, Alex, yesterday morning and he agreed and prescribed him Baytril (Septrim is no longer available). I got a taxi to go and collect it and deliver it to me. (It's a game getting him to take it and I'm not sure if he's going to be able to take it, he had bad reactions to meds last year, but I'll try for a couple of days.)
Now this is where the moult comes in. I had noticed a faint moult stripe on his nose a few days before and his cheeks had gone extra fluffy ready to shed. Then yesterday I noticed what looked like a lump just below his left eye and panic kicked in... Myxi, I thought. It had to be. That's why he was sneezy ...
I went to bed last night so worried and blaming myself for not having him vaccinated when it was due in July (I didn't think I'd still have him in July).
Anyway, I got up this morning and the "lump" was clearly an area of fur around a whisker that hadn't moulted.... the rest of his cheek had shed over night. The lump is nearly all shed tonight!
I was so overjoyed I told him just what a rotten wee rat-bag he is for scaring me so much, then gave him an extra fenugreek and a good nose rub.

Thank goodness for moults!

I should have recognised it was a moult thing but his sneezing had me so worried. It's now gone 7 months since his diagnosis and when the vets all gave me the prognosis of "Weeks, maybe months" I never dreamed I'd have him so long. I know time is short now and I'm just waiting and watching for the Bad Things to start happening.
