Well, Reboot is home...
and I'm not sure I've actually got a buck. For a buck he has a very slender head, quite delicate and refined, not at all bullish. Apparently neutering was done before "he" arrived at the Ark and I don't think sex confirmation was checked other than to grope for testicles like I did when we were introduced. Finding nothing spherical they probably assume a neutered male. Further investigation will be carried out by me at a later date, when we are better acquainted.
Anyway, at the moment Reboot shall remain a buck (though a rather effeminate looking one). He is a darker grey than I expected, a very dark grey and not at all chinchilla like. He as tan rings round his eyes and a tan tash under his left nostril, both hind paws are tan but both front paws are white (toes only). And he's small. Much smaller than Henry or any bun I've ever had. He weighs 2.28 where Henry weighed 3.55.
He was remarkably calm on the journey and we called on the vet before going home and he was great.... the only rabbit I've encountered who had all his claws trimmed without a single struggle and he was panting so not stressed. He was as cool as a cucumber.
At home he is not too friendly toward me , he doesn't seem to want to know me. But he's not scared. He is playing with toys, has eaten all his burgess, some veggies, wild forage and hay and has had his first fenugreek cruncher.
I think it may be a job keeping him restrained in the crate/pen combo.... he is chewing bars and digging the rug (another thing that makes me wonder about his sex).
I've not taken photos yet, I would have had to use a flash and I didn't want to risk spook him so will wait till the morning sun provides enough light.
OOOOOH ... I can smell a soft pellet being eaten! Heaven:D

Re: Well, Reboot is home...
Tonight we had a binky moment. I was cheering him on in the excited tone that always got a binky from Loll and Henry (or an half binky when they were nearing their last days) and he scooted round in the pen with a series of mini binks. It was our first interaction and since he has started to approach me and let me stroke his face a couple of times.
He's not 100% good with his litter tray yet but I think with a little work we may get there. He's the youngest bun I've ever brought indoors and I must admit I'm a tad worried about his digging and chewing at the bars of the cage .... will they be transferred to carpets and wooden fittings when he is let out I wonder.
Time will tell.

Re: Well, Reboot is home...
Welcome home reboot he is lovely.
Looks as though you could take any photo and he'd look great in it. Very handsome boy.
Sounds like thundercracker behaviour when he in the cage and he is well behaved when he is out. And I thought the same as you when I got him but vet checked def a boy.
Could be colouring that makes him look feminine when soundwave was slightly lighter he got she's pretty and my sis dog is black and gets your a good boy from strangers(now wears a pink collar).
Tina we have it programmed in that some colours are more feminine looking than others.
Xxx

Re: Well, Reboot is home...
The bar chewing is getting worse and it's starting wear me down. I yelled at him last night... it was 3 in the morning and I couldn't sleep for the racket.
He is a lovely bun but I'm finding him very wearing.

Re: Well, Reboot is home...
Bitter apple, lemon juice, vinegar ... I've tried em all.
It's mad, but his chewing the bars surely means he wants more freedom? So this afternoon I opene a gap for him to get out. He put his head and shoulders through, pulled back and went back to chewing the bars.
Tomorrow morning the damned pen is going and he can just have the crate ... he never chews the bars of the crate....

Wild!
Though, to be honest, he is calming down thanks to advice and a training program from Dr Anne McBride.
I will have had him three weeks tomorrow but at times it has felt four times as long. He is a cheeky, charming rascal too darned clever for his own good.
