A pretty cool sandcastle
This has been built right next to my work, I made my sister come and take photos with me so I can show you guys
Its pretty cool and has been there a couple of weeks now and he keeps adding more bits on everyday
This one is at the front

And at the back

It must be so hard to make something like this with sand, the man who did it does all different things too like he goes to the beach and does big mermaids and stuff they are all very pretty :luv: I can't even make a little one with a bucket and spade

Re: A pretty cool sandcastle
That is just stunning!! :luv:
Reminds me of Fiesa 2007* in Portugal. They do it every year under a different 'theme'. Sometimes in the summer they do them jsut on the beaches, illuminated at night.
It is just amazing how people can create such beautiful things out of sand! And knowing htat as soon as hte rain comes it will all be washed away
* on the link click "Galeria" for photos. 2007's theme was 'Wonders of the World'. Also see Fiesa 2006 (mythology) Fiesa 2005 was 'Lost Worlds'.

Thats amazing! I wonder how long it will stay up for, I imagine once the sand dries it will start to crumble. He must be so patient.
Round here some little vandal probably would have kicked it down over night

Re: A pretty cool sandcastle
Wow those are amazing Helen
They have been ruined in the past by people here and he usually has huge gates round them at night to stop kids going in and knocking them over
Or then run past and steal the donation buckets he puts around them
And he has a machine thing to keep it wet
Ive no idea how it didn't blow over in the wind the other night though

Re: A pretty cool sandcastle
oh cool.
and it's so sad that he has to protect it from kids
There is a guy in Abergavenny who decorates the front of his house with seasonal decs (saint's days, easter, halloween, xmas etc) and has a little ramp thingamy into a lockbox for donations. His gate is always locked so people can't get it to destroy things. Sad that it has come to that but he certainly does well for charities out of it

Re: A pretty cool sandcastle
Back home there was a man who did a huge sand sculpture in the shopping mall of the local lighthouse. It was FANTASTIC! I have a photo of it somewhere, I'll have to see if I can dig it out.
I saw a gorgeous sand sculpture in Newquay once of running horses. I was absolutely stunned by how beautiful it was.
