Inserting Emoticons
Sorry if this has been covered before.
When inserting emoticons, they always seem to go to the end of the text, and I'm wondering if it's possible to insert them in the middle of something you've already typed, for example. If I try to do this, they always default to the end of the last thing I typed. Is there a way round this (apart from remembering to insert them as I go along!)?

Re: Inserting Emoticons
That's how it is Helen. If you don't remeber to put them in along the way they'll go to the end. I cut n paste them into where I want to put them.
Same thing happens with links ar any alterations you make after you've already typed it all out. Again, I just C n P them into where I want. Sometimes it's easier just to type them out, for the quick ones like lol, roll, shock, ; ), etc

Re: Inserting Emoticons
Thanks, Jay - that's what I suspected.
I've been typing them out if I needed to insert them later; will try cutting and pasting too. Or alternatively will just try and remember to put them in in the first place!

Re: Inserting Emoticons
Unfortunately this is a bug "feature" of phpBB (certainly from version 2.xx and in version 3.0x) Other forum software such as SMF - (free), and VBulletin - (licence fee required) don't suffer from this.
There are some hacks around to disable thisbug "feature", although whether it's worth delving around in .php files is debatable.

Re: Inserting Emoticons
I click 'Preview' before sending and can insert emoticons anywhere on the text.

It also works if you use 'Post a Reply' rather than 'Quick Reply'. All these were added after typing the text.

Re: Inserting Emoticons
I just end up typing them, along with my code for bold, italics etc. I suppose I've done so many posts it's kind of second nature - what a nerd!
