Sticky eyes
Hope you can help. My wife has agreed to look after the neighbour's rabbit whilst they are on holiday, he lives outdoors and is a solitary bunny. The only other pet in the household is a dog. My wife has noticed that the rabbit's eyes are a little sticky with a little discharge. Any ideas as to what it could be?
I've got some pictures of the offending eyes - both are about 2.5Mb and 3000*2500 pixels (approx)

Re: Sticky eyes
He might have a blocked tear duct or maybe problem with his back teeth.
Rabbits' back teeth are very close to the eye socket and if the teeth are overgrown, can interfere with the tear duct emptying. I would suggest that your neighbour takes the bun to the vet for a check up.

Re: Sticky eyes
Yeah I would say a tooth check is in order. My old man Chance has this problem, but he has scarred tear ducts.

Re: Sticky eyes
They are due back of holidays this weekend, we've not taken the rabbit to the vet as the rabbit is eating and drinking well, does not appear distressed. Obviously if something serious was afoot we would do, but I think it's up to the owners to arrange routine vetinary care.

Re: Sticky eyes
Yeah I would advise them when they come back of what you know and just say to them maybe to get it checked before it tyurns into something alot more serious. For example, tooth problem can bring on stasis. And alot of rabbits never come back from that.
