Awwww it's the Huffster, I am sooo getting a APH one day. I better get my OH used to the new arrivals before bringing home any more tho, I have too many fur babies for him not to notice anymore
Re: Huffy The Hedgehog
I was just cooing over the photos of Huffy until I got to the pic of her tea
Seriously though, what a little cutie. Such an adorable little face. How much does she weigh?

Re: Huffy The Hedgehog
What are they like as creatures?
Do they share much in common with regular hogs?
Are they shy?
What are her little foibles?
What makes her a lovely pet?
I hear some of them use a wheel? Does she?
Shall I stop

Re: Huffy The Hedgehog
they are quiet independant and like things their own way, huffy also takes ages to wake up, lazy monster
i dont know much about regular hedgehogs, but APH dont hibernate like our wild hogs, well they can but they will die if you dont wake them up.
they also have a mild toxin in their quills which acts as an irritannt if you get spiked, no idea on the wild ones on that lol
huffys not shy, shes lazy and grumpy:lol: absolutly wonderful once shes fully awake though
foibles? i have no idea what that means but have been told its likr habbits? huffy likes to wait till i go to bed then make lots of noise does that count? she also likes to dig UNDER her fleecey bed and sleep there, raer then in it, or she will dig under her flying saucer and sleep under the base on that lol
in my opinion they are a loverly pet, but they arent for everyone, i certainly would not recomend some one to get them without lots of research beforehand, but i would hate to be without one, i would love to get more, but at £150 a hog,tey arnt cheep, and their food isnt cheep either, they need a high protein low fat chicken bassed cat kibble diet (huffys mix is 4 diff foods mixed together) and they also need insects too, huff gets freeze dried mealworms daily, and fresh tinned crickets or grasshoppers (she prefers the hoppers which is fine by me as they arent as gross)
yes huffy loves her wheel, she has a wodent wheel wobust, and a large flying saucer, wheels are alternated every so often just to keep her amused

That is fascinating thankyou. Well I look forward to hearing more about her. The wild hogs like to sleep under blankets too. We used to put towels in for them.
