Can rabbits eat purple lettuce?
I got some lettuce today for Pippin to try but now I'm not so sure he can eat it. I know that iceberg and the white varities of lettuce shouldn't be given but this is Oakleaf which is a dark purple colour. Does anybody know if this will be ok to Pippin? Thanks in advance

Re: Can rabbits eat purple lettuce?
I'm no expert, but I would probably give him a little bit, and see how he goes. I imagine darker/purple lettuce is better than iceberg but i wouldn't want to chance Pippin having stomach issues.
I just did a quick google search and I am getting angry at the amount of misinformation out there about what is OK for rabbits to eat... grrrrr

I know exactly what you mean! That's why I usually come here because we all have bunnies and have real experience.

Mine eat all kinds, except for the plain, normal lettuce.

Hi Katie
Pippin is great thank you for asking. He's getting so big now.
Pippa and Peppa are good too. They are eating me out of house and home! They're growing fast too. I must take some new pictures of them all to show you.
We're getting ready to start bonding soon which I'm excited about and nervous!
