I meant to ask you this yonks ago, but how do they cope in the heat? Are they just adapted to it of do you have to keep them kool?

Re: Our set-up here
Well they have their own air con unit (flash I know but it's only a really old rattly one. You can jsut see the bottom corner of it in the very top pic) which doesn't cool the room per se but it stops it becoming a greenhouse with all that glass.
They tend to not go out during the day. They snooze about or destroy boxes and then go out in the early evening (sun sets around 6.30 all year round here) and morning time as it is cooler then.
As for adapting to the heat - they are Malaysian bunnies so the climate is not much different to here. When I got them they were outside away from air con. They were not in direct sunlight but whenever I go back the bunnies are always flopped out, panting. To be honest I don't think they are particularly 'adapted' to the heat as they have very fluffy coats (much like Charlie in the UK) but then you don't really 'get' wild rabbits here so I suppose they are just normal bunnies.
My lot have never flopped out panting before. That room is always open to the living room so they get the remnants of A/C from in there and never seem overheated. Just chilled
Scuse the mess of the room btw - we had just had kids over (excuses, excusees!)

Re: Our set-up here
we have spent rather a lot on them. Those black things outside were 40 quid each. and there's 4 of them. to be honest if i'd have known they had cost that much I wouldn't have had them but Mr B brought them home one day.
They are supposed to be for supporting water tanks
