Spring - 13th July 2015
My beautiful Spring, my voluptuous Spring pudding with the most incredible whiskers. I never dreamt I would have to be writing this for you so soon.
Spring was taken in by the Society for Abandoned Animals in early 2012. She was very overweight, a head on a ball of fur was how one of the volunteers described her. She was also described as a very quiet, sedentary rabbit. She was also very choosy, rejecting three potential partners before Gabriel came along looking for a new wifebun. Quite what she saw in him, with his persistent humping I do not know but there was obviously something about him she warmed too. I remember sitting in the bonding pen and her jumping onto my knee when she had had enough of Gabriel's attentions. I still have on the answerphone the two messages telling me that things were looking good and that some grooming had been going on.
So Spring came home with Gabriel in August 2012. They were not truly loved up initially so I was thrilled the day I came home to find this.
I considered changing her name but it actually turned out to be very apt. Like springtime, Spring blossomed. She stopped being a bunny with little interest in life and came to life, showing all the bunny characteristics of being inquisitive, full of fun and enjoying life (sadly this also meant excavating the lawn!) She soon mastered the cat flap and the run around tunnel and like Gabriel loved binkying around in the garden. She also joined in, like her predecessor Noo, in Gabriel's chase me games. Spring was always a great foodie and Gabriel soon learned to run away with treats lest she pinched them from his mouth.
My last memory is of Spring happy in the garden, less than 48 hours later I took the phone call to say that she had left for Rainbow Bridge.
Be happy at the Bridge my beautiful Spring, wait for me there along with Noo xx

What a lovely tribute.
I don't think any of us imagined Spring leaving so soon
She was gorgeous - an absolute stunner. And going by your posts, she had just as beautiful a personality.
I'm so sorry that she has gone
Sleep well, Spring, you beautiful, beautiful little lady x

She was so beautiful (in looks and nature). What a handsome couple they made.
