Re: Gunk in Molly's eye
No love I haven't seen that before. Some of my bunnies have woken up with a bit of sleepy dust in the corner of their eyes as we sometimes have and again much to their disgust I have wiped it away. I don't know what this is though but the rest of her eye looks lovely and healthy.

Re: Gunk in Molly's eye
The rest of her eye does look ok doesn't it.
I haven't seen any more gunk tonight since I cleaned it but it is still a wee bit watery. Junior cleaned it for her after I cleaned it but I gave it another wipe before I put them to bed, just to be on the safe side.
I'm just hoping this isn't teeth related

Hmmm, charlies eyes are like this a lot - but Annie keeps them clean. I wouldnt panic though hun she could just have got something in it.

Re: Gunk in Molly's eye
One of our guinea pigs had a bit of a runny eye a few days ago but it is fine now, I think he caught it with a piece of hay. Everything crossed hunni but I am sure it will be fine.

Re: Gunk in Molly's eye
Thanks for your thoughts
Her eye is still a teeny bit watery today. She is fine in every other way though. Eating, drinking, attempting to follow me up the stairs and generally being a cheeky moo!
We are at the vet on Wednesday for vaccinations anyway so I will get them to check it out. I've been planning to get them to check her teeth too.

Not too long to wait then hunni, you will be taking her tomorrow. I am sure the vet will be able to give you something for her little eye. I will be thinking of you.

Re: Gunk in Molly's eye
Maybe a bit of hay poked her in the eye?
Henry has an occasion eye spillage. Just like a single tear rolls out. It wets his fur, dries and that's it. It never bothers him and happens roughly once a month. The vets can find no reason for it... it's an Henry thing!

Re: Gunk in Molly's eye
It's bugging me. No more gunk but still watering. I've realised tonight that every evening I say to myself I'm going to phone the vet in the morning and ask for drops and then it's dry in the morning all day!
So it's only watering at night

Re: Gunk in Molly's eye
We saw the vet on Wednesday for vaccinations and she had a look at it but couldn't see anything wrong. On Friday night her eye was watering worse than ever so I phoned the vet yesterday morning and they told me the vet had put on the notes to continue bathing it (which I've been doing) and to re-examine if no improvement. That's not what the vet said to me! She said if it didn't clear up to get back in contact and and they'd give her some drops. So I stood my ground and got the drops.jolovesbunnies wrote:Oh sweetie, I can understand it bugging you. did you manage to speak to a vet? Love and noserubs to Molly.
