Re: Tanalised Timber?
Mmm, not sure Dan, will make enquiries..
ETA, I have seen hutches built from Tanalised timber, which claim to be safe. But then you see hutches that are tiny that claim to be within regulation size and aren't, so I'm not sure about that.
The compound infused into the wood is called Tanalith E. There's some info on it here, which would certainly make me unsure about using it, but I'm unclear as to the effects of it once it's in the wood, and if it becomesl less harmful at that point?
I hope someone else can help

Re: Tanalised Timber?
I don't know about tanilised wood but I do know quite a few people use bark chipping as a substrate and it's a pretty good choice, they can dig about in it without getting grit in their eyes, it's not too harsh on their hocks and it's quite natural.
I guess the only thing to think about is a good drainage system underneath so it isn't always damp and rotting.

Re: Tanalised Timber?
Brill thanks for that i think what im going to do is have the wood on the outside of the enclosure so they cant sit there and chew on it.
Thanks Dan.
