Hello all!
Hello! I am 19 living in the UK, my boyfriends sister recently got her mother, two weeks ago, as birthday presant a pet shop rabbit which they named Claude. And after the last three of the sisters rabbits were either eaten or ran away after a month or two I got pretty angry because I knew this rabbit would be neglected the love it needs and I hate pet shops selling any animals. So my boyfriend and I are now looking after him, we called him George because he is so very very curious. This is prooving a problem, because even though the sister is not interested and the mother has no time to cuddle the rabbit as she is working all the time, George is still Claude, still their rabbit. However slowly he is becoming our rabbit and if all goes well he will become George and not Claude. George is very happy as a house rabbit, everytime we bring him inside its binkies galore, he hates his hutch outside and when I try to put im back he tries to escape so I am trying to get him a indoor cage so he an be a house rabbit but its prooving harder than I thought. Though he does not live at my house as my dogs were strays and would see him as food =[ he still feels like mine and my boyfriends and I see him whenever I can. He is also my first rabbit I had to take care of (and pay for), I had two others but I was young and my parents looked after them both so they weren't really mine. But I a going to try my best to make George happy, any advice would be great though my boyfriend and I have reserched rabbits for quite a while and found out so much about them, they really are amazing creatures!

Re: Hello all!
hi Welcome to HH!
Thank goodness you are there to look out for George....hopefully he will be alls very soon.
If you have any questions this is definately the place to be. The amount of bunny knowlege on this site is MASSIVE, and the people are lovley.
Please feel free to ask anything you need to as I know people on here will help you as much as they can - prob best not to ask me tho as im useless! ha ha
I do have a house bunny Called Daisy so I know well the problems that come with having a bunny in the house.
The three most important things i have learned are - Plenty of excersise (the binkys are good), lots and lots of hay ( it does make a mess but will help later on), and lots and lots of patience........

Re: Hello all!
Hi Acorn,
Welcome to the site. Rabbits are such misunderstood pets and people just think they are boring and easy to keep. They are such complex and interesting animals with fantastic personalities. So good that George has someone looking out for him and willing to spend time getting to know what he needs and how you can enjoy being with him.
