Hi, I'm new
Hi everyone,
My name's Nici - I'm from Australia and have been haunting this forum for quite a while. I figured in my procrastinating today that I might as well join so I can post occasionally instead of just reading. I initially started looking on here for cute photos of rabbits to get me through the day at uni. I'm 22, still at uni, and have had rabbits for about 3 years now. I quickly became obsessed and spent hours and hours reading up on their behaviour, habits, and health.
I have two rabbits, Josephine and Bruce. Josephine was, I'm ashamed to admit, an impulse buy from a pet shop. I completely regret every giving them my money, I can't regret my little girl. She's a moody princess. She'll spend days being angry with me, and just when i'm about to give up in despair, she'll come and groom me, my heart will soar, and all will be forgiven. She's the white lop, a bit too cunning and a bit too clever, and MORE than enough cheeky than I can handle some days!
She's bonded with Bruce. Bruce was adopted from a local (and by local, I mean 2 hours drive from my house, one way) animal shelter. I took Josephine "dating" there over a year ago, and she picked him. He's the sweetest soul - kind, gentle, and a little bit slow - but no one adopted him for a long time because of his size. He's 4.5kg, a giant, which Google tells me is 9.9 pounds. Sometimes I think he is very similar in personality to Lenny from Of Mice and Men.
Josephine and Bruce are "house rabbits" of a kind. As I still live at home, and my mum doesn't like the rabbits free range in the house (Josephine had a habit of chewing through the plaster walls when she was younger), Jose and Bruce have their own "bedroom" within the house that I claimed as bunny territory, which is actually slightly bigger than my room! However I let them into the garden regularly and free-range in the house whenever I am home alone.
Nice to meet you all.

Re: Hi, I'm new
Hi there Nici,
So glad that you decided to end your days of lurking and come over to the bright side. Out of the closet, so to speak.
Your buns are just lovely. I think Bruce is fabulous and so funny that he's the gentle giant and the other one is the cunning mastermind. Bit like Pinkie and the Brain.
Looking forward to chatting with you a bit more.
