This is wrong, this is very very wrong.
I went to feed them and he was sitting in the hutch. I was alarmed immediately.
He is acting strange, his head is tilted to one side.
He just went outside, ran into the tunnel and is sitting there.
This is very very wrong!! S**t.

Oh dear, I think he needs to see a vet. It could be head tilt which I believe is a manifestatin of EC. Let us know how he is getting on. Hugs to you xx Hugs

I went to check a lot of times. He was just sitting there. Just now when I went to see him, he got out of the hutch and in the outdoor run and into the tunnel.
I think he had a stroke. I'm reading as much as I find now on the web.
I don't think he has EC because the symptoms are different.
I have to go to the vet with Cian for his jab, but I'm not sure to take Rufus, as maybe I better leave him to rest. I will give him Metacam when I can.
I thought I was losing him, but if it was a stroke, he can live with that can't he?
Damn, I made up this great romantic story and now this!!

OMG, poor Rufus Sad
I don't know anything about bunny strokes, but in humans, the quicker they are diagnosed, the better the outcome, so why not call your vets first and speak to them, and let them advise you if he needs rest or a visit?

I'm 99,9 % sure it is EC, according to the symptoms. I think I know more about bunnies now than she does. I have all the info here from the well known faculty in Utrecht, Netherlands.
My son is on his way to get Panacur, the sooner I start the better.
It's heartbreaking to see Rufus' behaviour.

Do you remember Arthur with his paralysed hind paws? Might have been the same too. Just different symptoms

hind limb weakness (ataxia)
urinary incontinence (caused by the central nervous system lesions, not those in the kidney).

Is it allowed that I curse???

I am sorry to hear of Rufus and hope the Panacur will soon take effect though I believe it can sometimes take some time for any improvement to be seen.

Metacam is also useful as it may prevent inflammation and therefore other symptons. I have also read that the antibiotic Zithromax has helped in other bunnies. You may want to ask your vet about this.

It would also be a good idea to treat your other buns with a 28 day course of Panacur too, especially if they have been in the same areas as EC is very contagious. Bleach will kill EC spores so it is a good idea to clean as much as possible with a 10% bleach solution. There is much debate over the life cycle and treatment of the EC bugs, but unless anything has changed, it is recommended that a thorough bleach clean is carried out on days 21 and 28 of the Panacur course.

Am sending loads of vibes for you and Rufus xx

I would suggest treating for an inner ear infection alongside EC treatment as well, just to cover all the bases. This usually means an antibiotic such as Baytril (enrofloxacin) alongside the Panacur and Metacam. Metacam is important in the treatment of both EC and IEI's.

One of my ex-happy hoppers owners contacted me yesterday to tell me she had developed a head tilt and other alarming symptoms and she is being treated for both of the above conditions, but her prognosis is guarded. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for both her and Rufus. Sad

I dreamt he was dead and got up to check. I was really surprised to see he was still alive, but it's so sad to see him like this.
He is forever leaning against a wall and I wonder why he doesn't stretch out.
I'm in doubt whether to just leave him in his surroundings or put him in a cage in the house. Rosie seems to avoid going near. The first night she was outside all the time. He did eat some sorts of lettuce yesterday but not much.
I really wonder how this must go on? Crying or Very sad

If he is struggling to balance you can ask your vet about some anti-vertigo styled drugs to help prevent him from falling or rolling (symptoms caused by both EC & IEIs as they lead to neurological complaints). Stemetil is what we call one of them here.

I went out with the dogs, made lots of pics and had fun, and then suddenly there is the bitter truth "I have a very sick bunny at home". So upon arriving home, first thing was checking on Rufus.
I still don't know what's best, leave him be or take him inside.
I will ask about the medication Sooz. And I'll get Baytril too. Problem is, my OH, is leaving in a minute and back very late and out very early tomorrow till 11.00PM Sad

I have no car for the moment nor will I tomorrow, my husband has to go to work. He's coming home at 11PM, leaving at 9 AM, to come back once again at 11PM Sad
Vets don't do house calls here.
I put him in a cage with a lot of bedding inside the run so he and Rosie Lee can go on smelling each other. But he's not eating and I can't get the medicine down him as he turns his head away and gets stressed a lot. I bought strawberries and mixed the panacur with that, but I cannot force it down, really.
I just don't know what to do anymore!

I feel so bad, I want to do something but I don't know what and I can't stand seeing him suffer like this. I keep wondering what he has really because there were no initial symptoms of EC

OK, just back from vet with a lot of medicine. I decided I would give it a try, though his chances are very very little. He had some herbs yesterday, but doesn't touch them now.
We agreed to treat him for a few days as a start, then by Sunday evening I will have to decide if further treatment is still useful.
I just sat here yesterday, couldn't bring myself to do anything.

It's steroid injections, AB injections and then Panacur syrup.

One can only hope.

It's getting worse.
He had a few bites of a strawberry and I was so happy, but later on, he is just lying there. I went to walk the dogs and I was sure I would have lost him in that time. He's barely breathing now and does not swallow the liquid I give him.
I have some carrot puree now but will he eat it?
