An observation Empty An observation

My Rory is usually totally nom motivated. No  I'm sure most of you can relate! Several days ago I had one of my migraines. Had the lights out, eyes covered, BiPap mask on. When this happens he usually just hops up on the bed, walks up my leg and tummy then stares at me until I reach for the nom jar. Sometimes he will even paw the mask if I'm slow to give him his noms.

But this time he walked up and stared until I acknowledged him. After I spoke he turned around and hopped down to sit on my thigh. He looked like he has all relaxed and calm BUT any noise, no matter how soft or remote brought on a minute postural change. I had no idea that they were so tense. As a prey animal they would always need to be on the alert. You would think that he would feel safe there with me, but he doesn't. So, when we have a bunny that does a DBF(Dead Bunny Flop) in our presence it is a compliment of the highest order!

Just an observation.  Very Happy

I agree with you Holly !

Annabelle will flop and sleep and never seems alert .... But I don't think she knows she is a pray animal at all! The other two are never off of alert!

Mojo is the same, he's never totally "switched off". His ears are always on the go, even when he's relaxing.

I agree! Marley and Dolly, whilst being totally bonkers, they are always on the alert. Its not often one of them flopped within touching distance, but when they did it was lovely....infact it wasnt often that they even layed within stroking distance Laughing But when the noms come out, youre im suddenly the greatest thing since sliced bread...ecxept when i go to Maysie's...noms or not, they arent interested in me Laughing Laughing Laughing

I am not sure about Binky, sometimes he will suddenly dart and stamp but most of the time he is a "whatever" bun. Our little Newbie Holly seems quite jumpy which is to be expected at the moment but on the other hand, she will flop down on the floor, little leggies out at the back and doing her little happy noise. It is great reading about everyone's buns and their little ways.

Hugs

Jo xx
