Would enamelware be ok for food dishes?
Can't find any ceramic bowls I like but I've seen some enamel pie dishes which would be ideal - larger diameter without having higher sides. Do you think they'd be ok?

Can't see why not. But I would watch out if they are tossed about by a playful bun as enamel will chip and there might (small might and maybe just me being over cautious) be a risk of a bun swallowing an enamel splinter.
But, really, what does it matter what the bowl looks like if it is functional?

Haven't found any ceramic bowls that fit the bill, woodwench, regardless of how they look. The enamel ones are just white with a blue rim, but the diameter is ideal and the sides aren't really high either.
They don't tend to toss their bowls around so it shouldn't be a problem

Then go for it. It's the contents that really matter... ask any bun

Bowls haven't arrived yet... But the buns are doing great, ha. Having a little trouble with zel and her bladder, she keeps dribbling wee, every time she had antibiotics it stopped, then started again a couple of days after she'd finished them. Just done a 28 day course of pancur and so far i think she's ok, but we'll see. Hecs is his normal cheeky self, definitely a lot happier now he has a wife!!
How are your lot?

Enamelware is steel with a porcelain coating on the outside
The bowls, or rather pie dishes, came today! They're just the right size, I'm really pleased! Obligatory bunny pics:
