Stressed bunny

So my little lad was at the vets getting nails clipped and in weighing him he has lost weight. They are putting it down to stress and because of it he isn't getting the nutrients from his food, so soundwave is to get extra food. Can also explain the behaviour issues but today he has been really quiet.
My poor wee lad just wanted cuddles today not like him. Worried mummy.

Oh Gemma, did they explain why he doesn't get nutrition from his food?
Is he eating his c's?
I know some mat suggest oat flakes to try to put weight on.
Or alfalfa hay?
Not sure what to suffer but sending hugs to you.

She didn't go into a lot of detail just stress can prevent rabbits bodies from absorbing the nutrients from the food. He hasn't been right since we lost Miranda.
He has been kinda good this evening no attempting to attack jetfire but instead chewing the hutch on the outside lol he has lots of veggies and he had a wee extra of pellets and lots of hay with Apple mixed through, spoiled bunny.

The hutch chewing is recent isn't it? Since Miranda died?
That change in behavior could be stress related. And maybe ingested wood isn't helping him get the goodness he needs from his food. What type of wood is it he's chewing? Are any wood preservatives likely to be ingested?
Have you tried using one of the plug in things for stress?

He's no longer in the hutch hasn't been for about a week now, he's in his old cage seems more settled there no more destroying things in the cage. I have pet remedy plugged in beside him. He seemed very settled yesterday no attacking anyone or jetfire and was getting into mischief but today very down not wanting to do anything(until now can hear toys getting battered about) .
I don't know what kind of wood it is, it's just a bought hutch. I don't know how much he is ingesting watched him chew it and it looks as though he breaks it off and drops it but doesn't mean he not getting something.
It has all been since we lost Miranda, his behaviour was out of control our nurse referred us to Jo Hinde, so we have been emailing her.

We building him big pen out the back so when he goes out he can have more room without us looming over him all the time. I've ordered him an agility jump(try get him back into that). If we can get more up days then hopefully he will put his weight back on.

I use pet calm spray but I thing they do an plug in as well.
Have you ever tried fibre first?
I need to be cunning and put it into the jar with fenugreek crunchies it takes the smell and gets gobbled down when bunnies digestion slow.

I will try the fibre first, he was sitting on my lap for ages getting cuddles which really isn't like him it's worrying xxx

I guess all this is stressing you as well ... he will pick up on that and it will feed his stress. You get into a cycle of feeding each others stress. It happened with Henry and me before his diagnosis when we didn't know what was going on with him. Once he was diagnosed and I saw what was best the stress flew out the window, for both of us.
To help you with your stress maybe you could try Bach Rescue Remedy.... I've used it in the past and it did work.

I try to keep things as normal as I can, kinda hard when the wee b***er has learned he can jump over the arm of chair onto my side table then down and mission impossible it under the couch then I got lift the couch to get him out cause his little fat bum has gotten stuck, so he now banned from the living room at the moment.
He's having a down day today again he just sitting in the corner, will take him for a walk later if the rain stays off try perk him up. Looking at him he looks so depressed. Thought he would have been like this straight after Mirandas death not months down the line, I'm now wondering if somethings happened or wrong.

Didn't get him out the rain came on so gave him a Banana and he had a nap, hopefully it nice tomorrow I can get him out and about

Soundwave got weighed today and has put weight back on he hasn't had a down/bad day in ages, so happy my little fluff seems to be getting better.
Jetfire and his cage is now touching and he doesn't seem to wanting to attack her does try when she is out though.

I am delighted to hear that he is better hunni, when you see the first signs of improvement it is as if your world has been restored. Perhaps he and Jetfire will bond soon.  Please keep us posted, here's hoping

Oh bless him, have you seen any improvement over the last week or so? do you have any scales at home where you can keep an eye on his weight?

Can see a big difference in his behaviour Katie he no longer sits in the corner looking sad, back to being him old self. He gets weighed again start of July but that's just to make sure he isn't piling the weight on.
No scales to depressing for me lol
