Just back from the vets, theres a small bit of impaction so shes had her jags to move her guts etc and back in tomorrow for a checkup to make sure its all passed. The bald bit on her back was checked and they suspect theres been a couple of mites on the hay but due to her being run down she has become very dandruffy so got treatment for that too. Theres no way I want that getting out of hand so £120 later I have mite treatment for 7 rabbits and 5 guineas, she got the injection. Others have no symptoms but would rather play it safe. Got my hands full as have to have them seperate for an hour or so after to stop it being washed off. Dont have enough boxes haha Didnt expect that amount though!!

I hope the jab dies the trick. Buns seem to be really susceptible to mites when they are run down too, it must be a relief to know she's ok Smile

Glad its nothing serious. Perhaps the impaction is where she has been ingesting her fur?

Id have to wince at the £120 of mite treatment too, but it will be worth it for the peace of mind I bet.

Sending nose rubs to all your fur babies. x x x x

Well she ate a bowl full and pooped loads last night, ate another bowl today but not much poo so the vet although she felt the impaction was clear repeated the jag to be sure but is happy she is fine. I mite treated a few last night. Got 2 rabbits 5 guineas to do tomorrow, its a pain seperating them for an hour to avoid them grooming it out as there isnt many boxes/carriers. Another £20 tonight but yes im happy shes sorted.

Glad things a looking better for her. You are always so glad to see poop when they haven't been eating.

Felix had a bout of mite infestation and it was horrible, but it cleared up really quickly when he had his jab.

glad to hear it. It came on pretty quick, just got the guinea pigs to treat even though they dont have any symptoms.

Glad she is ok. My vet told me that mites don't tend to cause a problem for other buns only the one that is run down.... ah well best to be safe I guess. But ouch at £120 Sad x

yup, left e skint, thank god for college money or I wouldnt have had it. She must be feeling better. I let her out for 5 min in the snow as she loves it, that was half an hour ago and theres no way she is planning on coming inside!!, shes in a pile of snow washing herself. I left the door open and put a ramp and barrel up to her hutch if she wants in. No harm in her having fun. I however am not freezing so come in to have lunch.
