Chance's Eyes ARGH
Does anyone have any ideas. Basically those tear ducts are scarred and despite recent attempts to flush, there is just no way they are ever going to be flushable. So his eyes weep ALL the time. And bl**dy Ratty and Bella WILL NOT clean them. When he was ill just before xmas and had baby Sophie foster bun in with him, his eyes were incredible and all the fur grew back. Now he is out in the day with Ratty and Bella and in at night and I wash his eyes twice a day and apply a thick coat of vaseline over the area (which he INSTANTLY washes off). We have tried all the eye drops the vet can think of to no avail.
Washing them does nothing. They are red and sore and all the fur falls out leaving raw skin. Another bunny washing them is the only way to sort this and despite numerous lectures, those lazy swines won't do it. What else can I do. I feel so sorry for my old man?

Oh Chance, the poor man, how frustrating for you.
You should definitely sit Bella and Ratty down and give them a stern talking to
Do you still have Sophie with you? Maybe when Chance comes in at night you could put him in with Sophie and hopefully she will clean his eyes for him?

Re: Chance's Eyes ARGH
So sorry hun, maybe get your vet to ring John if they've exhausted all other options?
Re: Chance's Eyes ARGH
Sophie got snapped up within a few weeks I then put Yodaphine's Ruby with him but she wasn't as efficient and also had a brief stay as Yodaphine snapped her up too!

Oh poor chance. Bless him. If he's so keen to be outside with Bella and the Ratman the least they can do is help keep his eyes clean!
sending him nose rubs bless him - little cutie!

Re: Chance's Eyes ARGH
Might see if John can come up with anything but becuase the tear ducts don't work, we have to deal with the constant streaming
Re: Chance's Eyes ARGH
Poor Chance. Felix's eyes were the same, but not quite a bad as those of Chance. Since he has been bonded with Wolfie, he has been cleaning his eyes and they are amazing. Hoping that you perhaps get a more co-operative foster bunny who will do the business.
Sending clear eye vibes.
