Even I'm binkying! - Pics pg 2
I've been in the process of moving for almost 4 months now (exhausting!) And my poor buns have suffered the worst of it. They went from a huge cage and lots of out time, to a small cage and limited out time, to a tiny cage and no out time I've been feeling absolutely horrible about it, but I had to just keep reminding myself (and them) that it was temporary. I spent ALL day long building/rebuilding them a huge cage (7x4 NIC cubes). They are in the unfinished basement, which I am thrilled about because it's going to be so much easier to clean up after them. They have got mats on the ground and a nice new cozy bed incase they get cold (it's not even cold in the basement, but being on the cement makes me paranoid). Plus, the great part about moving is I have boxes to last me a life time! They have a really long, narrow, sturdy box that I zip-tied up and cut some holes in, and as predicted they LOVE it.
Brynn was adjusted in mere seconds (my brave girl). It took Hippo FOREVER to get out of the cage, but they have been exploring and binkying for hours! It almost brought tears to my eyes. They were happy tears, but also guilty tears because I haven't seen them binky in months.
Eventually they will be allowed to roam around in the upper two levels of the house, but not until they are well aware that their home (AND LITTER BOX) are down stairs!

Aw, they must be really happy to have lots of space again. I just love it when I let mine out into the garden to be free range for a while and they race about like loons and binky all over the place. So cute.

This is fantastic hun, I am so pleased for you and I know how relieved you will be! Bless your heart. Can't wait for some pics!!!!!!!
Re: Even I'm binkying! - Pics pg 2
That's fantastic, what a great result! Your relief must have been huge. My two's room is half concrete, they actually prefer it to the carpet, in both summer and winter You'll love it soon, it is so so much easier to clean than carpet, it makes your life much easier.
Looking forward to photos!

The only thing I have to take pictures with is my phone and computer... thus they aren't great, but you get the idea.
I actually opted for a big ol' ugly unfinished basement just so I could give the bunsters lots of space (and EASY CLEAN UP!!!!!!!)
It's not as fancy as the massive leveled one they had for a few months at my old place, but after many cage rebuilds with the NIC cage I have grown tired of the levels. They are great, but incredibly difficult to get to for cleaning. Plus, when there are levels I've found the buns don't use the floor space AT ALL... they essentially live in a smaller cage because they only live in the levels.
I'm so glad to have them back! Once they are well adjusted I'll be able to start training them to go upstairs!

That looks great! They look ready to escape their space already, the carboard box is a great idea and will keep them entertained. let us know how you go in getting them used to the rest of the house!

I hope it really isn't that hard to clean levels LOL. I couldn't make a condo too wide in my house so I opted for a 3X2 NIC. Since I had to keep the area small me and my wife opted to give the bunnies some hight. The condo is roughly 7 feet tall and it will have 4 levels (+base, so 5 total). The levels extend for 1 1/2 NIC with the door opening in the middle of 1 of the wide sides. This way when I open the door I can reach easily every shelf to clean it. I thought that making so that level overlap instead of using slides to link them will make it easier to clean...moreover I really didn't want a bunny to binky right in the middle of a slide and fall 4 levels...
I really hope we thought it well and it will be easy to clean, also because so far both bunnies use their box as a chair. They sit on it, but poop and pee everywhere else in the cage (LOL and I read they usually do their things in the same spot...someone forgot to tell my bunnies LOL). Well, actually since I put a soft towel in the cage the younger, BunnyBoo, no longer pees in his cage, but waits for me to let him out to pee outside...instinct or just SOB? hahahaha I love him anyway.
As per they only live on the levels, I doubt they will. I left 1 of the corner NIC untied at the bottom so that it works like a doggy door. They will have food, water, box and exit in the base so they will go there (I will just place one of those hanging hay feeder per each level so they always have hay available).
