Is this ok?
The owner of the rabbit I'm hopefully getting has said his hutch is for sale too, if I'd like it. I was just worried about it being a 2 storey, do you think it would be ok? I know how easily they can hurt themselves. Also do you think it would be good? The rabbit in the hutch is hopefully the rabbit I'm going to get I just have to make sure it's ok with Mum that I can get to where he is.
Re: Is this ok?
I think that once it is attached to your run it will be fine Hun . Looks a good size and condition. See if you can get it for free - I think she is cheeky selling it when you are giving her bun such a good home x x x

Re: Is this ok?
Thank you Sorry I keep asking so many questions, I just want to make sure I look after him properly, I've never had rabbits before so I'm worried I'll do something wrong. I'm going to talk to Mum because I've got to see if we can fit the hutch in the car too Who wants to see bunny photos?
Re: Is this ok?
I've decided not to get this hutch. I've been looking online and I think I'd prefer a single storey hutch, also his owner said it's 4ft, and I'm hoping to get another rabbit to live with him at some point in the future and I want to make sure they have as much space as possible. Also I don't think it will fit in the car Thank you for the help, I've decided to get this hutch instead:

But the 6ft x 2ft x 2ft size.
Also, I've asked Mum about Merlin (the rabbit) and she said that I can get him! But she wants to properly arrange getting him etc. nearer the time.

Re: Is this ok?
I think hutches like that one in the picture are decieving, because they look big but the top layer isnt much use as buns cant flop you, you have definately made the right decision getting a single story.

Re: Is this ok?
Thank you for all the help I think I've organized everything now, but I've still got to decide on food, the pet shops around here are rubbish for rabbit food But there's a pet shop by the vets so I'm going to have a look there at the weekend.
Re: Is this ok?
Regarding the food, you prob know this already, but choose a pellet one instead of a museli mix to prevent selective feeding. You may also find it cheaper to buy hay from an equestrian centre or perhaps a local breeder may sell it. I get mine from a guinea pig breeder and the quality is much superior to the local petstore

Re: Is this ok?
Thank you I'm definetly going to feed him pellets, is rabbit excel any good? I'm going to look at another pet shop this weekend to see if they have any other rabbit pellet foods.
Re: Is this ok?
I use Excel for daisy because the little monster won't eat anything else, but I would prefer to use science selective. He only has a single layer in the bottom of a small bowl once in the eve and once in the morning to encourage him to eat more hay.

Re: Is this ok?
Thank you I'm going to a different pet shop tommorow to look for science selective but if they don't sell it I think I might try excel, I've heard they should only get one egg cup full of pellets per day, is this to encourage him to eat more hay? It just seems like it's not very much and I'd worry about him not getting enough food, but if he has lots of hay and access to grass as well as his vegetables and pellets then he should have enough food I've just got another message from his owner, Merlin sounds absolutley perfect He doesn't dig, and she knows his parents because her friends own his parents, and he's never had any health or teeth problems. He's also on Pets at Home nuggets, which I'm going to have to change because there isn't a Pets at Home near me, but I can get some pets at home nuggets to use for his changeover to a different food. I feel a bit bad because I've sent her loads of emails asking questions about him but I just want to make sure I know as much as possible about him
Re: Is this ok?
Don't feel bad, it's really good you want to know so much !!
As for the small amount of pellets, you're right he won't go hungry as long as he constantly has hay to eat so don't worry ^_^. I give my two three handfuls in the morning and the rest of the day they eat hay hay and more hay and they are full of energy and perfect weights!
He sounds like a lovely boy

Re: Is this ok?
Daisy has about one egg cup full per day and he is a good healthy weight. You can always give a little bit more in the winter time if you felt he needed it, but an egg cup is fine. The nuggets are not meant to be his main diet - they are meant to complement his main diet.
Merlin sounds so lovely - i bet you cant wait for April to come!
