Hello!
Hi Everyone
I'm bunny mummy to Spudsey (wild bun) and BB (Black Bunny!) and also cat mummy to Alfie and Storm.
My partner found Spudsey and her three brothers (who were named Parsnip, Carrot and Radish) on our allotment four years ago. He found them whilst he was rotavating our allotment. He moved them as he didn't know what else to do with them as knew he couldn't leave them in our plot. It was very sad as we put the nest in a box outside of our allotment hoping mum would find them, but she just kept going back into our plot and digging the most giantic holes looking for them. It was heartbreaking We now know we could have actually reburied the nest.
After 2 nights outside in the cold we realised she wasn't going to find them there so I took them to the vets thinking that it might be kinder to put them to sleep, although I had also discovered a bunny forum where I had read about hand rearing. One of the veterinary nurses at my vets knew me fairly well as I had had rabbits previously.
We talked about hand rearing and so thats what we did!
Very hard work but mega rewarding Sadly all three boys died one after the other but the worse one was Radish who appeared stronger than the other 2 boys though not as much as Spudsey and I lost him at 6 weeks old after a journey to Wales They travelled well and had lots of adventures in my in-laws bungalow but the whole thing was obviously too much for him and I found him dead the next morning It was awful, I was sobbing and that started Spudsey off thumping.
She was then moved from the hallway into our lounge and stayed there for a year having great fun gnawing the skirting boards and telephone wires!
I eventually bonded her with a domestic bun Squirrel and they were happy for just over a year, then he suddenly dropped dead at the vets so attempted re bonding with another one. That resulted in them both fighting so tried again with another bunny (all rescue ones) which went ok-ish! They have been together for several months now but Spudsey is definitely the boss and does have moments when she chases poor BB about and pulls out his fur. He is an adorable rabbit and loves spudsey but not entirely sure the feeling is mutual! However she does groom him and they occasionally sit together but BB seems fine!
Anyway after that lengthy post I will finish here and get busy uploading the photos!

Re: Hello!
I have a feeling I've met you on another forum before but not seen/heard from you for ages! Glad to hear Spudsey is still doing well, we have three members including myself with wildies! My Juno also had to make a long journey when she was tiny so I could continue to medicate her whilst away. She's three this year!
Re: Hello!
