hazel and ariel
Just had to share this photo of Hazel and one of the piggies Ariel, they started off at opposite ends of the sofa and ended up snuggled together!

Re: hazel and ariel
Ruffin, the buns and piggies don't live together. Ariel was on my son's lap and Hazel my daughter's and they both got up to play leaving the bun and piggy on the sofa. They just cuddled up to each other. It's only Hazel that comes into the house as she is happy to stretch out on the sofa and stay put, the piggies tend to stay put as well but only Ariel as Oscar is a bit, well, ferral and has bitten before so not one the kids can handle often.

Re: hazel and ariel
I try to set a good example to them, at preschool they have 2 piggies that are kept in a small cage with nothing to do My son tells me about them and I ask him which is better, the housing our piggies live in or the cage the school piggies live in and he knows which is the better way for them to live.
They love watching the buns free ranging and keep an eye out for Mr Fox who a neighbour has informed me, lives across the street in a disused garage. Mr Fox has been observed to be watching my buns with interest.
I remember my father keeping gerbils when I was a kid, I have fond memories of those gerbils and my hamster.
