This is where I live
Hi,
I am Daisy B. As many of you may know I am a house bunny.
I thought I would share with you where I live and some tips my mummy has learned over the last three years that have made life with a housebun easier and nicer for both of us.
First of all, here is me. In front of my toy box. There are lots of things in here that keep me busy so that I dont eat any more of the fixtures and fittings, although I do like to spend a lot of time re-arranging the box itself.
Here is my living area as a whole.
As you can see there are various baskets etc in the back left. These are my litter tray (the white one with the lid on) and various baskets containing food. I have to go to different places for different types of food, this again keeps me a little busier, although I do still have my veggi's and any treats scattered in different places altogether, again to keep me busy.
My mummy's top tip is the big rug. It is a smooth twist rug which means it is not abraisive on my feet and is there so that I dont have to hop around on the laminate floor which can be bad for me. As it is rubber backed I am unable to remove the threads too, and beleive me I have tried and tried and tried. It is also completely washable, which means my area can be kept clean and nice.
although I have a soft black mat and blankey on the lefthand side there I spend a fair bit of time under the sofa you can see. I spend my afternoons snoozing under there and I can hide from anything scary.
Here is a picture of me under there. Mummy also puts some hay and water under there too for me.
Here is a picture of my hay basket. This has been a godsend to my mum because it has a low front I can hop in and out easily, without trailing hay everywhere (although I still do - frequently) but thats more for fun rather than by accident. Mum puts hay at one end and I go in there - have a nibble - and then hop out again.
And me in it. Mum takes it into different rooms with me too.
And so there it is....the home of the Daisy Monster.

Yes, Ive asked him to remove the self portrait he had taken of himself sitting on the sofa drinking beer watching loose women, while I was at work, as I didnt think it was appropriate.

What a clean and tidy bunny you are Daisy. Not a poo or any stray hay anywhere.
You are very handsome too.

Dont be fooled Jo, only seconds after the pic was taken, he tipped his dried dandilions over and pulled the hay out of his basket......

Hello Daisy sweetheart
We all loved your e-mail and your piccies and to say you are beautiful is an understantement.
It is so nice that you are keeping your mum happy and she you, you certainly have a lovely home. Our main room is a bit like your mum's, boxes and play things everywhere.
I look forward to more posts from you.

Re: This is where I live
Its actually a kitchen rug, but has been a godsend to us (as daisy likes nothing more than to remove the threads from normal ones).
I cant remember the make but I will pop to the shop on sat and get the name of it for you, they do it in loads of colours. Ill drop you a line and let you know.

Awww thank you!
It took a while to get to this point.....toilet training was a nightmare.....but we got there in the end, and I think he is happy, and I know I am happy with the set up too. Its hard to get the right balance between it being right for the bun, so he can behave naturally, and it being tidy enough for me too, but I think we are there more or less now.
He went through a teenage distructive phase too, which my skirting boards and furniture can testify to, but (and I shouldnt speak too soon) he seems to have got passed that now. We still have the odd "incident" but we just keep an eye on him.

Re: This is where I live
I just saw this now You've got a great set up Katie, Daisy is a lucky boy
I realised that you have the same ball as me - the blue one with the plastic on the ends and the white wire in between the balls. Does Daisy just eat it? Whenever I fill mine up, my two don't eat the hay, they just enjoy pulling the hay out of the ball and leaving it strewn all across the floor, leaving the most mess possible for me to clean up. Does Daisy eat it? What makes him eat it?
